Being able to ‘read’ and to understand the language of pain and suffering is for me an essential life goal.
Below is a link to a recently published personal reflection on how I started on this journey.

Really love this! Thank you. — Laura Pritchett – http://www.laurapritchett.com
Many thanks Laura
I was so moved by this. I hope you don’t mind I’ve shared it on FB. Such poignant poems and paintings. jxx
Thanks so much Jane!!
Always enjoy getting your posts and this one in particular was very powerful. I kept meaning to ask if you’d seen a film The Dark Horse, not the recent one about the horse but a new Zealand one which has been around. A colleague came back and said it was a must see – which it is! I’ve been reading Oliver Sacks’ memoir On the move which I ‘ve been loving. Don’t know what you think of him, but I’ve always loved his humanity and I also like the fact that he grew up on Mapesbury Rd.
Best Paul
Thanks Paul. I have been in Venice where the Biennale is in full flow (my highlight was a wonderful Sean Scully exhibition in a most glorious setting).
I missed The Dark Horse, but it sounds fascinating. I will try to find it somewhere, even on DVD eventually!
I had no idea that Oliver Sacks grew up on Mapesbury Road!! I am a huge fan. Even more so now, I find his humility facing death moving and inspiring.
